Trudi Thannhauser Beyer died in the early morning of Christmas Eve. She had been bedridden for many weeks after breaking her hip and was ready to move on.

She requested no services but donations can be made in her name to the docent program at Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery: http://mag.rochester.edu/join/docent-program/

The picture on the left was taken in 1974

Click here for my post about her on facebook: An excerpt below

"All my life I went to her for motherly advice, for stories about our family, for family recipes, and for gardening wisdom. She encouraged my interest in family history and gave me her DNA for testing."

At my request she wrote a description of her life as a child in Germany with illustrations, published here on this site

Every year she sent her home baked Stollen to lucky family members like me and I sent her marzipan from Elk Candy store. I published the family stollen recipe on my blog at http://blog.kittycooper.com/2014/12/holiday-food/

I will find more of her recipes and publish them too.
